Season by season
- Winter: open curtains on sunny windows during the day, close them at night
- Summer: close blinds on sunny windows during the hottest part of the day
- Use a ceiling fan counterclockwise in summer for a cooling breeze
- Turn fans off when you leave the room; they cool people, not rooms
