Switch to LED bulbs

Less energy, and far fewer replacements.

4 min read

LED bulbs use much less electricity than old incandescent bulbs and last many times longer.

Good to know

  • The Department of Energy says ENERGY STAR LEDs use at least 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last up to 25 times longer
  • Start with the lights you use most hours a day
  • Compare bulbs by lumens (brightness), not watts
  • Check the color: "warm white" is closer to old bulbs
